John Hodges, UPS Freight Named Grand Champion
 
Charleston, WV – Hurricane resident and professional truck driver John Hodges was named Grand Champion of the West Virginia Motor Truck Association’s Truck Driving Championship, held Saturday, May 10 in Charleston, association representatives announced. Hodges, a driver for UPS Freight in Nitro, West Virginia, took the top honor after competing in variety of skill and safety tests.

UPS driver Bob Gragg is in it for the long haul

Bob Gragg drives a tractor-trailer 486 miles a day, but he's not complaining about the high price of diesel fuel.

He reports to work at 6:15 a.m. and doesn't finish up to 5:30 or 6 p.m., but he doesn't complain about the hours.

As a union driver for UPS, he earns more than $90,000 a year. "That's what keeps us here," he said during a 6 a.m. interview at the UPS package-handling center in the South Charleston Industrial Park off MacCorkle Avenue.
